We’re the Yoder family, and we’ve been raising puppies on our farm near Hersey in central Michigan since 2004. Every Morkie puppy you see above was born and raised right here by us. We don’t resell puppies from other breeders. Our children help feed, play with and care for the puppies every day, so your Morkie comes home well socialized and ready to be part of the family.

What Is a Morkie?

A Morkie (sometimes called a Yorktese or Morktese) is a cross between a Maltese and a Yorkshire Terrier. Morkies are tiny, bold and full of personality. They have the Yorkie’s spunk and the Maltese’s sweet, cuddly nature.

• Size: usually 4–12 lbs and 6–10 inches tall when full grown, depending on the parents.
• Coat: long, silky and low-shedding. Common colors include black and tan, tan, white and parti colors, and many Morkies lighten as they grow. Plan on brushing several times a week and regular trims.
• Temperament: affectionate, loyal and playful. Morkies love fetch, laps and being part of everything you do.
• Lifespan: often 12–15 years with good care.

Is a Morkie Right for You?

Morkies are a great fit for apartments, condos and smaller homes, and they’re wonderful companions for empty nesters, singles and families with older, gentle kids. Because they’re so small, they do best with children who know how to handle a little dog. Morkies bond closely with their people and may bark to let you know someone’s at the door. Their low-shedding coat can be a good fit for many people with mild allergies, though no dog is 100% hypoallergenic.

Getting Your Morkie Home

Pick up your puppy at our farm near Hersey at no extra cost. We can also hand-deliver by car anywhere in Michigan and the surrounding states, or meet you halfway. Live farther away? How big do Morkies get?

Most Morkies end up between 4 and 12 lbs. We’re happy to tell you the size of a puppy’s parents so you know what to expect.

Do Morkies shed?

Very little. Their hair-like coat sheds lightly but needs regular brushing to prevent tangles.

Can I meet the puppy before I reserve?

Yes. You can schedule a video chat or an in-person visit.
