We've been raising Shi-chon puppies in our own nursery for folks all over the country for a number of years now. We are Michigan Puppy and we love finding homes in Indianapolis for the cute, fluffy, non-shedding Shi-chon puppies we raise! We raise them all at our homestead in central Michigan which is about a five-hour drive from Indianapolis, IN. We've found homes for a number of our Shichons in Indianapolis and would love to find homes for more.
We're a family and we've been raising puppies since 2004. We love it! By we, I mean myself, my wife, and our four children and the puppies. My wife and I love it because it's something we can do together. Our kids love it because they get to play with super-cute puppies every single day and the puppies love it because, well, puppies love to be played with!
Shichon puppies are sometimes called “teddy bear dogs” or “Zuchons”. They are a cross between the Shitzu and Bichon Frise breeds. They are small, usually 10-15 lbs, and have super fluffy coats which make them look bigger than they are. They are friendly, happy, and fun to play or snuggle with. They usually like kids and are quite playful which can be harder to find in smaller dog breeds. They do bark occasionally which is pretty common in smaller breeds like this. They need to be groomed regularly to avoid coat matting.
These smart little dogs love to snuggle and do great indoors. For smaller living spaces like you’ll find in Indianapolis neighborhoods like St. Joseph, Stringtown, Riverside, Old Southside, Old Northside, North Meridian, Kennedy-King, and Hawthorne among others. Shichons are a great option and a wonderful companion!
